A message from Wenyu....He would like to thank ALL OF YOU who were involved in the humanities quiz this year. He hopes that you all will get involved again next year. In his own words "to keep this thing going." =)

Yepyep. I hope we can build a long lasting institution....the Hwachong Humanities Challenge.
(Junrong put the logo up here!!!)

This is incredible. ZK has said most of what I wanted to say, so I shall be brief.

The quiz would have flopped without the help of everyone. The quiz would be dead without the MCs. The quiz would be incomplete without the scorers. The quiz would be doomed if we didn't have the logistics personnel. The quiz would be hopeless without the laptops and their owners. The quiz would be meaningless without the ushers. HCJC Humanities Quiz 2003 would be stillborn if not for the fact that all of you pitched in to help.

Special thanks to the organising com and the question setters. Junrong did a good job in programming - SV, watch out! The PMSing was worth it. His genius ensured top-quality maps and professional-looking powerpoints. Zhongkai's questions made ours pale in comparison. His scoresheets - something insignificant yet so important to all quizzes - were crucial in ensuring fair results. Christina and Estelle were patient enough to put up with our ravings and be our test subjects, as well as contributing vital questions (especially in Literature). And the food was great. Lastly, Wenyu. It was he who started the quiz last year and guided us throughout the 3 months.

Oh and before I forget: I thank Mr. Ang and Mr. Barnard (and the other tutors) for their time and effort. And of course our sponsor, Mr. William Ng.

On behalf of the OrgCom/Axis of not-so-evil-but-evil-to-a-slightly-large-extent, I bow in humility and thank you.

Hahahahaha!!! Humanz quiz is over and I'm free as a bird!!! (At least until SYF hits home.) Anyway. I can safely say that it was a large success (apart from glitches here and there.) And now I'd like to thank everyone who's made it possible.

In random order -
Melissa for being a semis emcee, contributing questions and listening in on our endless drivel late at night.
Judith, for agreeing to be a semifinals emcee and lending her laptop, both at a short notice.
Andre for skipping council camp so that he can be an emcee.
James, Herng Jer and Jolyn for guarding the doors and ushering the teams.
Johnny and Fuzzie (who also skipped a part of council camp) for their dedication to their posts as finals emcees. (It was a job very well done.)
Lixin for an admirable job in The Weakest Link and the Spotlight Rounds.
Yi Leng and Ruomei for scoring in the semis and finals (Terribly sorry. It was a stressful job)
Kai Siang and Yue Jer for turning up and helping to clear up. (Made the job a lot a lot easier =) )
Gullnaz for giving constructive criticisms and suggestions over the course of 3 months.
Estelle, Jolie and Yi Hui for setting questions, without whom the quiz would have been terribly skewed and worse, might not have sufficient questions.
Serene and Emilyn for entrusting their valuable laptops to us.
All the seniors who have helped in some way or another (like emceeing and scoring and ushering and lending laptops and prize presenting and stuff.)

And finally
Zhipeng for coming up with brilliant ideas like dud questions and stuff, and for doing much of the most odious part of the quiz (logistics) and for setting questions and working hard.
Junrong for the very professional programming done, as well as the vetting and setting of questions and generally doing a lot of other things that made the quiz possible.
Christina for the doing the catering and question setting and vetting and discussion and logistics and emceeing and whatnot. (As well as sacrificing her birthday for the quiz.)
Wenyu for settling a lot of things, mostly administrative in nature.

AND ABOVE ALL THAT - everyone who helped out in some way or another, supported us etc. etc. etc. etc over the past 3 months when we were planning for this quiz.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
I love the world =D. (Disclaimer: Ne me touchez pas.)

the hssrp creative skills workshop is held at the MOE Teachers' Network Building presumably. It is the only MOE related building I see that is along Grange Road. And I don't think there is any bus services to that place. Anyone knows how to get there?!

Humanz quiz details:
1. Blazer
2. Tie
3. Long-sleeved white shirt/blouse
4. School skirt/trousers
5. Court shoes.
6. Instructions+script
7. Water...lots of it
8. Temper - don't lose it

If you plan to come early you can meet us at 10 at a15 classroom. Those with HSSRP and Research Symposium please come as soon as possible. Have your lunch beforehand, and get enough rest. If you can't locate us try calling Junrong, or try the following venues: a14/15 classrooms, E201-205 (the block opposite Tahan room), LT3, Inner Plaza (the seniors will be doing registration there).

Those who want to catch a glimpse of the action can come down. Expect to help out, though. Can someone bring along a digital camera or a video camera? I don't know whether Wenyu has checked with Yu Heng (the official photographer) about his duties tomorrow; and anyway I want to see how the dud questions are answered (sadly I cannot be there at all).

*sigh* can someone give me the details of the Grange Road HSSRP seminar? Cos I don't have them... I got it mixed up with the symposium in school. Sheesh. Nice photos! Everybody looks good in that one (something of a rarity for photos)... although kaisiang looks strangely miserable? :p Hmm after Junrong's (I suppose it -is- junrong?) tweaking Shawn mysteriously looks like he's wearing HC uniform despite being in khaki shorts...

tt's all i'm bringing myself Mel so if we missed out anything will the triumvirate please inform us? ;)

I'm for matrix or X-men 2! any seconders?

Oh yeah Lixin wants to bake something sometime with me. It is patently ridiculous if you guys don't take advantage of my house-across-the-road if you want to, so how about it? For the spate of april babies, or something?
