the 2nd intakers? um, one of them's my best friend. joyce. :) so give me face and be extra nice to her. :)
well i guess we just gotta be good and friendly to them, and try not to make them too uncomfortable by emphasizing humanities culture.. u know.. like throw it in their face.. they may be quite averse to it. aiyah, i think they really have hellalot of work to catch up with.. shit.. poor them. and we can only help to a certain certain extent. i mean, how do u catch up with almost 5 months worth of work in 1 month or so.

i highly discourage the idea of having classes for them. Do it in groups. It will be too intimidating for them and it will only serve to show that humanities-superior-than-arts complex (which is really not true). But honestly, I don't see the need of making so much preparation for their entrance. Let nature takes its course. It's good for some of us to volunteer to help them. But if they want to be with others whom they're more comfy with, then let them be. :P They need time to adapt - and we shouldn't try to cut it too short for their comfort.
Actually I was thinking if they don't find it presumptious and uppity of us we could hold like classes for the history and lit bits so that it doesn't require 4 separate people to do it.... but i dunno. It's only if they don't mind. I'd definitely chip in for lit if I'm so qualified. Actually last year the new intake seniors really did just forget the history topic, since apparently Miles teachs more than is necessary to have enough topics for the paper (what an awful mercenary way of looking at it...)
I think the math was easy... the "verbal" was do-able but definitely tricker than the math... Remains to be seen how we actually did =p I think SAT's are easy to score well for but hard to score very very well for... which is why people retake and retake to be in the top percentile or something.
Are all the new intakers going to be in our class whether they take his or geog? I wonder if any of them have AO chinese... Anyhow we should welcome them properly on monday. I wouldn't like to be in their position, with 4 1/2 month's work to catch up o.O. Cake or something? And lots of offers of notes =p ... Does anybody know any of the girls? It's like, I've never seen any of them before, strangely enough. And I don't think I'd recognize them either. Hrm...

i'm not an internet addict anymore :) i rarely log online :) :)
annie way, not sure if the starhub starter kit i passed to shawn is working (probably not?) but when you pple have announcements of importance one way or another and pass them through the net can the announcer pass to shawn too? cause he doesn't have an internet connection at home. he missed quite a lot of stuff already.
yes congrats yileng! thanks zk, gd luck for SO. and gd luck to one and all for any competitions they're involved in, and the drama people for a successful production. i haven't signed up yet by the way, been pushing it back for a while...

I dunno what to say really, except that MOE is really pretty screwed up this year. My dad's theory is that they've been cutting costs cos of the recession (or soon to be recession) and cos they're diverting resources to life sciences and the through train things. conclusion: MOE is screwed up. <-- only way -i- know how to comfort people
"singaporean culture" = oxymoron, which is pronounced oxzimurren. for some strange reason.
