Pardon me. My computer just doesn't like Blog. It refuses to show me my posted note. So I did it repeatedly. But I just found a new way of getting round the problem. :P

goodness, take care all you guys...:( bleeding ears, running fevers etc etc do not a healthy class make. :(
johnny: is there even such a thing as -too- intellectual? maybe they mean having too much intellectual -pretentions- (that's me)... but too intellectual? oh and your post turned up a grand total of... 6 times? -_-
good luck to the production people... from the random fragmentary yells and shrieks i've been hearing, it sounds like a very entertaining play :) it's just a week to production! i'll bet it'll be good :)
oh yes... i must rave about yesterday's absolutely amazing forum. thanks ruomei for dragging us down. basically blew all my cynical views of forums away :) next time there's a uwc forum thingy, everybody go down! really! better than a good debate. :)

First the greetings,
Kudos, Yue Jer! Take care of that ear. Be cheerful, and it will heal fast. :>
Congrats to Andre, Zhong Kai and Junrong for winning the HACAS GK Quiz. You deserve it! Though I will love to stay there and watch you, I’ve been dragged to some stupid briefing which basically stated the obvious.
Second, my temperature hit a high of 37.2 degrees Celsius. Have been running with a flu and slight cough. May not appear for tomorrow, if I do, stand at a radius of 1 m away from me.
I’ve been hearing funny comments of our class being too intellectual. I certainly don’t belong to that category. :P What are your comments?
[Man, I feel like the host for Talking Point.]
PS: Anyone running for arts fc?
hey guyz, i think we all should give one huge pat to yuejer who really gave it his all for the class today during the inter-ct relay comp. yupz even though we were like trailing badly he really pushed himself for the final 100 meters, so much so that he got injured quite badly. very encouraging to see someone trying his best for the class, thereby for the fac :), yupz so kudos to him.
if u're reading this hope you're resting well jer. um...wear ear muffs to bed yah? :P

Congrats to Junrong, ZK and Andre for their success in the quiz. Junrong was brilliant, so I heard (from Huixin). Apparently she grossly underestimated you. I'm sure that this will go a long way towards making us best CT for the year, right Andre?
Sorry to the quiz people for that abrupt exit..we were late for the briefing (which was 60% waiting and 20% chaos and 20% briefing). No offence guys!
Anyway this quiz had been quite good to all of us...I think it was a waste for our other teams, who would otherwise made it to the final round if not for the stupid rule that restricted one team per CT. It would have been fun to see Team 14a vs Team 14b vs Team 14c vs Team 62, but I guess that would make booking LT3 completely redundant. : )
Congrats for the quiz! Knew you guys could do it :) esp to Junrong on short notice and who did the most heavily weighted section =) A14 rawks
someone's been bugging me to post here, so I shall. Unfortunately it's just ramblings... anyhow mustn't overlook this one as part of our big cats collection eh?
I've been on another poetry spree, which almost inevitably ends up with me feeling terribly under-read. Anyhow, this time I mainly looked up Blake's Tyger (which I once saw an absolutely beautiful picturebook of in RG lib) and oo look at it!
The Tyger
Tyger! Tyger! Burning bright,
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? And what dread feet?
What the hammer? What the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
I didn't realize the significance of the reference to the lamb before... apparently it's supposed to juxtapose this poem which he'd written earlier. I like Tyger cos of the deep burning question and eventual resolution of the nature of the dark side of creation, which the tiger is supposed to represent. Especially interesting would be the dual characteristic of fire, the constant metaphor for the tiger's burning spirit - it is both infernal and illuminating, spiritual. In expressing the dread and fear for the majestic, almost demonic beast which burns in the forest, it is a meditation on the awful aspect of the "immortal hand" which crafted these "sinews" that palpitate with both the physical life of the tiger and the metaphorical force of creation. There are allusions to the devil and his "wing"ed "aspirations" also, and one speculates whether these questions are applicable to the creation of Lucifer also? Just thinking.
hey guyz,
we won the current affairs quiz! hooray! i'm more excited than the other 2 cus this is the first time i've won any quiz of this kind. zongkai and junrong are probably sick of getting book vouchers (we are getting them aren't we?) as prizes.
oh i wanna say thanks to zongkai, junrong and zhipeng for suffering to put me in their team. don't think i contributed that much but so there. thanks guyz :) you helped me achieve sth i normally wldn't have done.
been quite a while since i wrote here. life's...getting better. lalala...oh, one final thing.
RUN for ARTS FC!!! (that's the fac comm by the way)
