it's been good days for a time. especially today, after lit wing meeting that was really really fruitful (i feel so much better knowing i'll be leaving the club in enthusiastic, active hands!). our next event will be

YAWP!
(Young Adult Writers Perform!)

basically we'll be holding an under-20 performance poetry I too am not a bit tamed, I too am untranslatable,
I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world.

– Song of Myself, Walt Whitman, Dead Poets Society
competition, with guest readers (read, big names like Alvin Pang, Paul Tan, Lee Tzu Pheng, Alfian Sa'at) and guest cca performers (e.g. syf performance from MAD?) and hopefully it'll be held in Chinese high drama theatre for free on 21st August, Saturday.

work being done, but approval must be sought. oh well. at least we're doing something now :)

brad pitt is too square in troy! he is! as in, physically!

okay anyway, troy was neither here nor there type movie coz the illiad, of epic proportions, is damn hard to squeeze into 3 hours. should have done a 9 hour thing like lotr. helen and paris ended up looking like a couple of spoilt teenagers who think the world revolves around them. and i wish they hadn't done it from the trojan perspective. it is so not a feel good movie. (i thought it was supposed to be!) and brad pitt isn't that cute. i think the saddest part was when the trojan king went down to archilles' shack to ask for hector's body... other than that i was just squirming in my seat cos it was too damn long, and looking at my watch more often than usual. not that it was a -bad- movie, it's just that it wasn't spectacularly good, like it was promised. (stupid straits times rating) costumes are gorgeous, but don't know if they're accurate. good thing tk wasn't there to kbkb. xuwen: funny, i was also thinking the same thing about hector going down to fight archilles. i was like, ignore him loh. but obviously that wasn't going to happen :p heh.
